NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the regular monthly Long Lake Town Board meeting will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Hall at N1584 Cty Hwy MD. Probable agenda items include: Paradise Partners fireworks application; Holy Island culverts; road tour report & roads maintenance; Annual Town Meeting recommendations to consider town hall usage fee, consider establishing appointed clerk/treasurer position and consider town hall remodel/replacement. The complete agenda will be posted at all three public notice locations at least 24 hours prior to the meeting and will be on the web site at www.townoflonglake.com. All interested persons are encouraged to attend.

NOTICE-ROAD TOUR

Town of Long Lake Supervisors Dan Lubensky and Al Ausing will conduct a road tour of Town of Long Lake roads to evaluate road work needed on the Town’s roads on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m.. No other Town business will be discussed. Any interested parties may join them. Meet at Supervisor Ausing’s residence on Little Bear Road.

NOTICE OF POTENTIAL QUORUM

This is notice that members of, and possibly a quorum of, members of the Long Lake Town Board and/or the Long Lake Comprehensive Planning Commission may be in attendance at a Zoning training webinar on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. at the Long Lake Town Hall at N1584 County Highway MD, Sarona, WI.

The Board and Commission will take no action at this event. The attendance of the Board and Commission members will be for informational purposes only.

Notice to the Electors of Presidential Preference & Spring Election

NOTICE TO THE ELECTORS OF THE TOWN OF LONG LAKE, WASHBURN COUNTY

PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE & SPRING ELECTION
TUESDAY APRIL 5, 2016
POLLS OPEN 7:00 AM TO 8:00 PM

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT
Any qualified elector unable or unwilling to get to the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. Citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day and who has resided in the Town of Long Lake in Washburn County for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. PROOF OF IDENTIFICATION MUST BE PROVIDED BEFORE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT MAY BE ISSUED.

YOU MUST MAKE A REQUEST FOR AN ABSENTEE BALLOT IN WRITING.
Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot is sent to you for the Election. You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature. You may make application for an absentee ballot by mail or in person.

THE DEADLINE FOR MAKING APPLICATION TO RECEIVE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT BY MAIL IS: 5:00 P.M. ON THE 5TH DAY BEFORE THE ELECTION, MARCH 31, 2016

Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.

VOTING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT IN PERSON
You may also request and vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office or other specified location during the days and hours specified below for casting an absentee ballot in person:
March 21 to March 25 & March 28 to April 1 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. by appointment.

THE FIRST DAY TO VOTE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT IN THE CLERK’S OFFICE IS MONDAY, MARCH 21, 2016.
THE LAST DAY FOR VOTING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT IN THE CLERK’S OFFICE IS FRIDAY, APRIL 1, 2016.

The municipal clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before election day to the proper polling place before the polls close on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Any ballots received after the polls close will be counted by the board of canvassers if postmarked by election day and received no later that 4:00 p.m. on the Friday following the election.
